Finding Christ in the Book of Mormon

During my first year as a Missionary, our Mission President gave us a challenge to “Find Christ in the Book of Mormon.” Sad to say it, but I didn’t do it. I looked at the challenge and flat out said, “No. I don’t want to do it.” Why? I don’t know. I guess I’m stubborn. Anyway, I now decided to do it. And it was incredible. I should have done it when I was first asked. He asked us to do five things. Highlight 1) each reference to Jesus Christ, 2) Christ’s words, 3) Christ’s attributes, 4) The Doctrine of Jesus Christ, and 5) Scriptures that make us glad. In this first image, you can see which colors I chose for each topic.

As I began highlighting, I noticed that some pages had LOTS of names of Christ and God the Father.

While others pages were almost entirely Christ speaking to us. Almost all of 3rd Nephi is completely highlighted in blue.

And some pages are just full of Scriptures that I enjoy or inspire me to be better and to change.

Anyway, the purpose of this post is really to show people that the Book of Mormon truly is another testament of Jesus Christ. We’re not only limited to the Bible. There’s so much more than that. Everytime I read the Book of Mormon, my testimony grows so much more. And this time was no exception. Are you interested in highlighting a copy of the Book of Mormon? Give it a shot. It truly opens your eyes.

  • I did this with you lat year, and my testimony became my own, not a borrowed one. My oil lamb became to overflow. Thank you for helping me becoming a better follower of Jesus Christ. I am not afraid to share my testimony either.
