This is just a small list of talks that I’ve compiled that I really wish I would have read before going on my Mission. They completely changed the way that I think and saw the way that I did Missionary Work. Listed below, are four other books that really helped my thought process as well. They’re not on the approved reading list for Missionaries, so make sure you read them before you leave, if possible.
Personally, I highly recommend the first book listed here entitled “Believing Christ.” It answered a lot of questions that I always had, but nobody could truly explain it in a way that made sense to me. He effectively explains “Grace” and “Works” but relates them in such a way that shows that both of them are required of us, and not just one without the other. He also explains our relationship with Jesus Christ and the Atonement in a way that I had never seen before by comparing it a bank account. That analogy really hit home for me. Also, the “Parable of the Bicycle” comes from this book. Either way, this is my recommended list. Enjoy!
